A Volunteer's Experience

The past couple of months I’ve had the opportunity to teach English classes for a financial group office in Viña del Mar. Every Wednesday we’ve gotten together for class and have had a great time, playing games, watching movies, speeches, writing, and discussing all sorts of subjects and situations. The group has been quite entertaining and good about participating making classes interesting.

The biggest difference I’ve seen teaching this group rather than others is the level, in the past having taught English classes at a basic level, these classes now at a higher level have been more focused on helping them use their skills in using the language because of their need to use it every day. It has helped me learn much more about my own language and also learn better grammar in Spanish. Apart from being really entertaining having fun with the people it’s been nice being able to provide a service to those who need it!
