Volunteer Programs

Last Wednesday, August 19, the International Students at the OIIE-UVM attended to an informational meeting about the Volunteer Programs in which the can participate. In the first part, Carlos E. Torres, International Student Coordinator, explained about what students are required to do in an orphanage in order to take care and entertain little kids. In the second part, Rodrigo González, Ministry of Education representative, explained about the duties as volunteers of the English Opens Doors Program. In this program, the English speaking students can be the English teacher assistants by interacting with Chilean school teachers and students. At the end of the meeting, students register in one or both programs from which they get an extra credit for the Cultures in Contact course.
