Our Wonderful Experience in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

After our fun bus ride, we arrived in San Pedro de Atacama. We were picked up at the bus stop by our Hostel “mom”. We arrived at 11:15pm, and hung out at the hostel to prepare for an early morning. We awoke to explore the small town and signed up for a tour in the afternoon. At three we departed on bus to the salt lakes where we went swimming in the water and then we were taken to two large holes in the middle of the desert, followed by another shallow salt lake where we “walked on water”. Our tour guide was filled with information and very kind. During sunset we had snacks and a glass of pisco. The next morning we went to the Geysers at 4:30 am. It is early- but definitely worth it! After the geysers we ate breakfast and drove to the hot springs. The water was boiling at some points, and it was freezing when you get out, but worth the jump in! Following the hot springs we went to a small Mapuche village with a church and ate llama. Delicioso! In the afternoon we rented bikes and had an adventure in the mountains. The scenery was breath taking and we had the chance to see two different famous natural sights. In the night we enjoyed a wonderful meal in a small restaurant. On our last morning, we shopped for gifts for our friends and family and prepared for our last bus ride back.
