Wine Tour

UVM INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT VERAMONTE VINEYARD

Last week, the International Students of the Universidad de Viña del Mar settled into the daily routine of attending classes and living with their Chilean families. On Friday afternoon, they visited the William Cole and Veramonte vineyards. The vineyards are located in one of Chile’s premier wine regions, the Casablanca Valley, which rests between Viña del Mar and Santiago. University of Arizona student Evan White says, “When you see the vineyards when you are driving by, it’s nothing in comparison to when you’re there and can see and taste the grapes.”

White also says he was impressed by the elegance of the vineyards’ main buildings, and the views of the vineyard they offered.
The warm, sunny day was perfect for wandering through the endless rows of ripe grape vines. The students were given tours and shown how the wine is produced. The tours ended with a tasting of the vineyards’ wines.
