Isla Negra

This past Saturday, May 5, a group of 23 of our International Students from 5 different countries had the opportunity to visit the house of Pablo Neruda, winner of the 1971 Nobel Prize for Literature. After having lunch at a typical local restaurant, the students visited Pablo Neruda`s most famous house, Isla Negra. The house is located on the coast and is filled with sea shells, Maoi and other indigenous art, ship decorations, portals, old maps, and other items from his personal collections.

This is a trip that the International Office offers each semester to all International Students. We hope you enjoy the pictures and if you are going to be an Exchange Student in the future at the UVM. We hope you join us on our next trip to Isla Negra!!
