Palabras de Mau de Japón

"Konnichiwa ! (Hola ! en japonés)

My name is Mau Satake. I am from Northern part of Japan.
I am taking Intensive Spanish courses here in Universidad de Viña del Mar from this September.

On the airplane, heading to Chile, I couldn’t look away from the beautiful sunrise over the Andes Mountains. I was so excited thinking about my new life in Chile.

When I arrived at the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, one charming lady came up to me with my name card ! I was so glad and felt relief when I knew she was Maria Luisa Figueroa, the Director of the International Office (OIIE). We exchanged e-mails many times since I was in Japan. The OIIE staffs always responded so quickly and gave me very accurate information I need. So I had no doubt to come here alone, because I knew my “ amigos ” were waiting for me. Yes, it was worth to take about 30 hours of air travel !

Viña del Mar is a very peaceful & beautiful coast town. I usually walk from my Chilean family’s house to school. This town is so interesting to walk around. You can find so many different faces about this town if you walk thoroughly.

Now I am taking three classes: Spanish grammar, Spanish communication and Cultures in Contact. I am learning so many things everyday not only about the Spanish language but also about Chilean people, culture, society and history. And above all, I believe living with Chilean family because it makes my days more impressive. It also helps to discover real life in Chile.
Without question, I am enjoying my adventure in Chile !

Yo creo que tengo buena suerte ( I believe I have good luck )!!

Chao !

Mau"
